As a general guide the estimated rate for various transport options can be calculated on an hourly basis. For peak day weddings (Friday, Saturday and many Sundays from September through to June) most wedding car and limousine businesses will require a three or four hour minimum booking. The general hourly rate may decrease for weddings of more than five hour hire time, but this will vary from business to business.
For example a typical wedding hire for a classic car will be $740 (4 x $185 per hour)
When shorter bookings are taken, expect the rate to be calculated at around two hours hire regardless of the travel time involved.
Be aware that a variation in the cost of hiring a similar car from two different suppliers may be a reflection of the standard of respective cars, the service provided and reputation and reliability of the provider. Like most things you get what you pay for.
Many transport bookings are now made directly via the internet. Word of mouth from trusted friends or having viewed the cars at friend’s wedding or bridal expo are a good confirmation about the quality of the vehicles and service provided.

Premium and Classic Stretch Limousines
- $250 – $400 per hour for 10 passenger Chrysler, Lincoln, newer Holden Caprice and classic stretched limousines
Basic Limousines
- $160 – $250 per hour for older Ford and Holden stretched limousines
Hummer and Heavy Vehicle or Bus Limousines
- $450 – $600 per hour for Hummer, Ford F series or a Dodge
